Multimedia & Community Projects

Along with photography, I am interested in various community documentation projects.  Check out my blog for more projects and details.

I contributed a photo series for a 30 second commercial highlighting the 'Mentoring Matters' program, a Communities in Schools of Central Texas mentoring project. Mentoring Matters allows mentor matches to meet both at school and in the community. The PSA is airing on the local Univision TV channel.

Here is a audio recording  that I produced at a volunteer, Austin community radio station - KOOP 91.7fm  The show aired on "People United" hosted by Allen Campbell.

The piece includes videography from Ed Fuentes. The clip was edited by Jeff Zavala of Z graphix.

Here is a slideshow that documents the opening of the Twin Oaks Library near my neighborhood which includes comments about the importance of libraries and the role they play in our public lives in Austin and across our nation.

Here is a slideshow featuring my documentary work at the 1st Annual Sacred Springs Powwow & Indian Market, held on Saturday, May 1, 2010 at Aquarena Center, 921 Aquarena Springs Drive, San Marcos, Texas.

My documentary photography was featured on PODER's (People Organized in Defense of Earth and her Resources) website.  Their gallery highlighted the  9th annual Cesar E. Chavez "Si Se Puede!" March which took place on Saturday, March 27th, beginning at the Terrazas Library on E. Cesar Chavez Street and ending at the Austin City Hall.

Take a look at PODER to learn more about their on-going community work regarding environmental, economic and social justice issues.
